ELEVATED CURB STOP SHUTOFFS

We have been hearing rumors around the village that it is okay to pound the new shutoffs that have been installed into the ground, so you don't need to trim around them.  

THAT IS NOT CORRECT!

As part of the water project, the specifications that the contractor must follow puts the shutoffs at an elevated height.  Once the project is complete, the Otego Streets and Water Department will lower them to ground level.

Please be patient and do not tamper with the elevated shutoffs.  If a homeowner tries to adjust or modify the shutoff on their property and causes damage to the shutoff extension or the curb stop itself, the property owner will be responsible for the repair.
